What's Your Dance Question?

Hey Dance Teachers!

Have you ever tried using "What's your dance question?" as a way to start building a lesson plan?

I'll share one of mine from a while back. My question was "Why Do Ballerinas Wear Tutus?". Growing up, I always wore them, but never knew why. I did some research and learned that the reason why ballerinas wore them is to accentuate their legs and feet, and to support their technique through clever usage of costume. Upon learning this I created a ballet combination for my 5th graders that was inspired by the lower extremities and Marie Maglioni, the first ballerina who wore a romantic tutu while dancing on pointe.

My next dance question I would like to explore is "What Is The Difference Between Modern and Contemporary Dance?"
